Helicopters

Apart from scenic drives and cruise trips, visitors to Phillip Island can use a helicopter to see the island’s most scenic and panoramic views.

Several helicopters charter both short and long tours from the Phillip Island Helipad, traveling around the island’s coast and making return trips to and from Melbourne.

Phillip Island Helicopter Rides, Flights & Tours, Victoria

The Phillip Island tour coordinators run an assorted fleet of helicopters, such as the Robinson 44 and the Bell Jet Ranger helicopter. Each helicopter flight is well-equipped with various safety features to ensure a safe and enjoyable flight for all visitors.

The benefit of a helicopter tour is that it offers visitors an opportunity to see the coastal beauty, gorgeous landscape and wetlands from an unobstructed view. You will never get to see Phillip Island as you would from a helicopter, and given that Phillip Island is such a small island, you can see most of the island in just one short helicopter tour.

Although more expensive than a boat or road cruise, your scenic helicopter tour is the best way to view the island’s diversity in a short time. Board at the Helipad in the southeast of the island, head up to the coast just east of Cowes and pass over the beautiful beach and jetty. Then, continue past Red Rocks Point and the many reefs below before flying over the spectacular Nobbies and Seal Rocks. Travel over the penguin parade beach and the Grand Prix circuit on your way back to the Helipad.
